Aspirin can reduce the risk of cancer 08/11/2011
Abstract: According to new research small dose of aspirin that is about 75mg daily can reduce the risk of cancer. Although health authorities say that the research do not have enough evidences to recommend normal human beings to take a Aspirin on daily basis due to its strong bleeding effect In Gastrointestinal Tract but it is a step forward in our fight against cancer. when cells divide there is a chance of faulty DNA in daughter cells. Body has the mechanism that faulty cells commit suicide (apoptosis) or they must self repair. aspirin enhance the suicide or repair of the faulty cells. Objective: Aspirin already known to have an effect against cardiovascular diseases but by side it increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. however this latest medical information shows that when weighing up the risks and benefits of aspirin its protective effect against cancer is considered. Design: The study was published in Lancet, covered some 25,000 patients mostly from UK (Lancet is the medical journal especially for Oncology). Risk of cancer reduced by 25% in those patients who were taking aspirin during trials and death from any cause reduced by 10% as compare to patients who were not given the drug. Setting or place: This research was conducted in Oxford University.Peter Rothwell and colleagues conducted this study while took 8 trials. Participants: 25,000 patients mostly from UK. Results: The risk for reduction in cancer was 20% over 20 years. For individual cancers the reduction was about 40% for bowel cancer, 30% for lung cancer, 10% for prostate cancer and 60% for esophageal cancer. The reduction in pancreas, stomach & brain cancer were difficult to quantify because of smaller number of deaths. Conclusion: Aspirin changes the lifestyle just like the diet and exercise which can help to preserve life but in case of any side effect you must go to your Physician. Yeah it's a fact already that aspirine is one of the best medicine available on the market. Even so i don't believe it can cancel the thread, even if you take a daily dose.

A very good read this even if it comes across as a little scary. You should always consult your doctor before taking any pills and if you have just a simple head ache then try forehead sticks. Their a little slower to work but they get there in the end.

I had always heard it was important to keep aspirin around if you feel a heart attack coming on. Maybe a little preventive medicine as well, eh?

Well, @adi I would recommend you to don't take aspirin on daily bases. This "research do not have enough evidences to recommend normal human beings to take a Aspirin on daily basis due to its strong bleeding effect In Gastrointestinal Tract".

Interesting study, but there are other ways to reduce cancer risk that are known to have even greater benefits, and with less risk. Physical activity, stop smoking, eating well and controlling your weight are associated with as much as a 60 percent reduction in cancer risk, and the side effects are better overall health!
